Synergistic Research SRX Phono is the flagship phono interconnect in the SRX cable loom and may well be the most powerful link in the series. Its design combines separate pure silver Air String geometries, a silver/copper matrix, advanced UEF active shielding and SRX high‑voltage conditioning to deliver an ultra‑low noise floor, huge soundstage scale and effortless extension at both frequency extremes.
Synergistic Research SRX Phono – flagship analogue interconnectSRX Phono is the final link in the Synergistic Research SRX cable loom and is described by the manufacturer as potentially the single highest‑performance cable they have ever built. Its geometry starts with separate 99.9999% pure silver Air String conductors running in parallel with engineered electromagnetic coupling between conductors, which is necessary to meet the electrical requirements of phono cartridges. To achieve the same ultra‑low noise floor as other SRX cables, Synergistic Research adds SRX carbon‑fibre spacers that strategically break EM coupling along the length of the cable. In early prototypes the team tried a fully exploded SRX‑style geometry, but this proved incompatible with many low‑output cartridges, while a more closely spaced Galileo‑type layout did not sufficiently outperform their previous Galileo SX Phono reference. The final SRX Phono therefore combines both coupled and decoupled geometries, SRX long‑duration high‑voltage conditioning and a new UEF compound to significantly exceed the performance of earlier designs. Reported improvements include a blacker background, greater separation of images in the sound field, a substantial increase in soundstage scale and improved low‑frequency dynamics with tighter bass control. High frequencies extend more effortlessly, with enhanced musicality that makes previous references sound slightly compressed by direct comparison.Like other SRX models, SRX Phono uses active UEF shielding, advanced 2nd‑generation pure silver mono‑filament Air Strings, silver/copper matrix conductors and extensive hand‑built construction with numerous point‑to‑point soldered connections. Each cable is finished with SRX Carbon Fiber Tuning Modules – passive UEF tuning bullets in Gold and Silver versions that sit completely outside the signal path and allow the final voicing of the loom to be tailored to the individual system. With its combination of extreme materials, complex geometry and bespoke tuning capability, SRX Phono is aimed squarely at analogue enthusiasts seeking truly no‑compromise performance from their turntable front end.
