The PSI Audio A25-Ms Studio Red is a Swiss-made, fully analogue three-way active reference monitor for engineers who need the scale, bass authority and headroom of a main-monitor system while retaining the precision and placement flexibility of a high-resolution midfield design. The A25-Ms follows PSI Audio’s analogue-monitor philosophy. There is no DSP processing or digital crossover in the audio path. Instead, PSI Audio combines purpose-built drivers, dedicated analogue amplification, carefully controlled crossover integration and individual measurement to achieve direct transient response, low latency, stable imaging and dependable mix translation.
The three-way system combines a large 210 mm woofer, PSI Audio’s Extended Dome Driver midrange and a 27 mm handmade dome tweeter. The dedicated EXD midrange driver combines aspects of dome and cone-driver behaviour, allowing the A25-Ms to reproduce the critical vocal and instrument range with clarity, speed and natural body. Separating bass, midrange and treble across dedicated drivers helps preserve detail and separation when monitoring dense arrangements, large orchestral productions, loud rock mixes or complex electronic material.
The midrange and tweeter assembly can be rotated by 90 degrees. This enables vertical or horizontal placement while preserving the intended dispersion characteristics. It is particularly useful in control rooms where monitor height, display placement, console geometry or limited vertical space makes horizontal positioning the better solution.
With a frequency range from 28 Hz to 23 kHz at −6 dB and a controlled response from 38 Hz to 20 kHz, the A25-Ms provides genuinely full-range monitoring. It allows confident decisions about kick drum fundamentals, bass guitar, low-frequency energy, subharmonic content and the relationship between bass weight and midrange clarity. For large rooms, immersive configurations or applications needing even more sub-bass headroom, it can be expanded with PSI Audio subwoofers and AvAA acoustic-treatment systems.
PSI Audio’s CPR, or Compensated Phase Response, is designed to control phase behaviour through the crossover regions. This supports focused stereo imaging, precise transient reproduction and reliable depth perception. For practical mix work, it helps with panning decisions, vocal placement, timing effects, reverb tails and mono compatibility.
The A25-Ms also uses PSI Audio’s AOI, Active Output Impedance, technology to control driver behaviour and reduce resonance effects. Together with the three-way architecture, dedicated amplification and controlled waveguide design, AOI supports tight bass response, differentiated low-frequency decay and stable performance at both quiet and high monitoring levels.
Dedicated amplification provides 170 W RMS for the low-frequency driver, 80 W RMS for the midrange and 50 W RMS for the tweeter. The A25-Ms reaches 111 dB continuous SPL, 114 dB short-term SPL and 124 dB peak SPL at one metre. Its 80° horizontal by 40° vertical dispersion provides a broad usable listening area while reducing excessive energy toward desks, ceilings and floors.
The A25-Ms Studio Red is designed for listening distances of approximately 1.3 to 4 metres. It is therefore equally suitable for larger nearfield positions, conventional midfield monitoring and compact main-monitor applications. A balanced XLR input, rear-panel room-adaptation controls and individual anechoic calibration make it easy to integrate into professional monitor-controller, converter and analogue studio workflows.
The Studio Red finish gives the A25-Ms a distinctive professional appearance while retaining the same high-resolution PSI Audio reference platform.
