The PSI Audio A215-Ms Custom Color is a made-to-order version of PSI Audio’s compact floorstanding active mastering monitor. It is intended for professional mastering rooms, mixing studios, premium control rooms, high-end stereo systems and design-led listening environments where demanding acoustic performance must be combined with a cabinet finish selected for a specific interior, architectural or studio concept.
The Custom Color version uses the same loudspeaker platform as the standard A215-Ms. The driver configuration, cabinet construction, integrated amplifiers, analogue crossover electronics and individual Swiss calibration remain unchanged. The custom colour affects the visual appearance of the cabinet only; it does not alter the underlying acoustic design, sound character or monitoring performance.
The A215-Ms is a fully active, fully analogue three-way loudspeaker. Dedicated amplification and crossover electronics are integrated directly into the cabinet, eliminating the need for a separate external power amplifier. No DSP and no digital conversion are used in the audio path. This all-analogue approach is designed to retain direct transient behaviour, dependable timing, high low-level resolution and the neutral translation essential for critical mixing and mastering decisions.
Its slim floorstanding cabinet uses a symmetrical D’Appolito driver arrangement, with two woofers placed around PSI Audio’s Extended Dome Driver midrange and dome tweeter. This configuration controls vertical dispersion and helps maintain stable tonal balance for both seated and standing listeners. It supports precise stereo localisation, reliable depth perception and a consistent listening area during mastering, mixing, editing, post-production and critical high-end music listening.
Dedicated active amplification provides 290 W to the low-frequency section and 55 W to the high-frequency section, for 345 W of total potential peak power. The A215-Ms extends from 36 Hz to 23 kHz at minus 6 dB and reaches up to 115 dB peak SPL at one metre. With a typical listening distance of approximately 1.2 to 3.5 metres, it is suited to nearfield and midfield mastering, mix rooms, production environments and high-end active stereo installations.
PSI Audio’s CPR, Compensated Phase Response, technology helps maintain controlled phase behaviour through the crossover regions, supporting focused imaging, clean transient definition and accurate assessment of EQ, dynamics, depth and spatial processing. AOI, Active Output Impedance, actively controls driver behaviour to reduce unwanted resonance and support precise bass reproduction. Combined with the bass-reflex cabinet and balanced XLR input, the A215-Ms is a revealing reference for engineers and listeners who value accurate translation over artificially enhanced loudspeaker voicing.
