Warm Audio WA-84 Small-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone
Built in a vintage-inspired style, the WA-84 features a Class-A signal path with a CineMag output transformer, Fairchild transistors, and Wima capacitors. As a classic small-diaphragm condenser microphone, it’s incredibly versatile — ideal for acoustic and electric guitars and basses, drums, piano, strings, brass instruments, and more.
Thanks to the CineMag nickel-core output transformer, the WA-84 delivers a big, full-bodied sound despite its compact size. In recent years, most small-diaphragm condensers have been designed without transformers to simplify production and reduce costs. Warm Audio intentionally went the other way — creating a boutique design that captures the legendary tone of the 1960s and ’70s, renowned for its crystal-clear yet smooth and creamy sound.
