The Soyuz 017 FET embodies the highly appreciated sound of great vintage microphones in a modern way. The included S17 cardioid capsule features a gold-coated, hand-tuned 34mm diaphragm and allows you to capture detail with amazing depth, warmth and a silky transparency in the upper frequencies.
The 017 FET is therefore particularly suitable for complementing subtle nuances of voices and strings. At the same time, complex instruments with difficult transients are precisely reproduced across the entire frequency spectrum.
The 017 series consists of FET and tube models. Both feature identical capsules, form factors and sound signatures, but differ in some details: the 017 FET captures transients with a slightly faster, tighter response, while the 017 TUBE, with its smoother, rounded top end, is perfect for sound sources that require warmth with a little more colouration.
