The Audient Horizon 32 is the high-capacity hub of the Horizon range, created for studios where a few analogue inserts are no longer enough. It is a 50-in / 50-out Thunderbolt 3 audio interface and converter for engineers who want their outboard, instruments, summing system and DAW returns permanently connected, immediately available and easy to manage.
Instead of adding another limited interface to an already crowded rack, Horizon 32 creates a true central I/O infrastructure. Its 32 balanced line inputs and 32 balanced line outputs are carried on eight DB25 connectors, providing 64 analogue channels in a compact fanless 1U chassis. This makes it possible to integrate large numbers of compressors, equalisers, saturation units, hardware effects, synths, drum machines, tape machines and external microphone preamps without continually changing cables or sacrificing routing flexibility.
For hybrid mixing, the advantage is simple: DAW stems can be sent to analogue processing chains, returned for further routing, summed externally and printed back into the session while other line-level equipment remains connected. Horizon 32 gives larger studios the channel count needed to treat analogue equipment as part of the everyday production environment rather than as a special-purpose insert.
The high-resolution 32-bit / 192 kHz converter stage is designed to retain the depth, stereo detail and transient response of premium analogue equipment. With up to 133 dB dynamic range, Horizon 32 is suited to critical mix-bus capture, mastering-grade line-level conversion, multi-channel stem processing and high-quality analogue summing workflows.
Thunderbolt 3 provides the bandwidth and responsiveness required for large modern sessions. With round-trip latency from 0.99 ms at 192 kHz and a 64-sample buffer, Horizon 32 supports responsive native plug-in monitoring and processing without tying the studio to a proprietary DSP platform. Actual latency will depend on the connected Mac, DAW, plug-in load, sample rate, buffer size and complexity of the session.
Dual ADAT input and output ports add further flexibility for external digital preamps and converters. BNC Word Clock input and output support stable synchronisation with other digital hardware, making Horizon 32 a practical centrepiece for studio systems that combine several converters, digital preamps and external clocking devices.
Dedicated stereo monitor outputs allow reference speakers to remain connected without reducing the available 32-channel line-output count. Horizon Control software adds a virtual patchbay, flexible routing, custom monitor configuration and extensive metering, allowing engineers to tailor the interface to tracking, mixing, summing and multi-room production workflows.
Horizon 32 is designed to grow with the studio. Up to four Audient Horizon interfaces can be daisy-chained under one driver, creating an expandable system with up to 200 × 200 I/O. Whether it is used as the main conversion platform for a hybrid mix room, the backbone of an outboard-heavy commercial studio or the routing centre of a multi-room production facility, Horizon 32 provides the scale, sound quality and organisation needed for demanding analogue-digital workflows.
Important compatibility note: Audient Horizon 32 requires a compatible Thunderbolt 3 connection and is designed for macOS-based systems. Please check your Mac and Thunderbolt compatibility before ordering.
