Thunderbolt Performance
Symphony I/O Mk II Thunderbolt gives you the full potential of Thunderbolt 2 performance with lowest latency, unmatched CPU efficiency, and 2 ports for connecting additional peripherals.
Symphony I/O Mk II Thunderbolt is based on Apogee’s proprietary Thunderbolt driver, designed from the ground up to deliver unmatched performance and efficiency. If you’re using Logic Pro X, the latency is reduced to an amazing 1.35 ms (round-trip*) so you can listen through your DAW including plug-ins. This simplifies your workflow and leverages the power of your Mac. Even if your session’s DSP requirements call for a higher buffer setting, Symphony I/O’s ultra-low latency means you no longer have to choose between performance and speed.
To accommodate different workflow preferences, Symphony I/O Mk II Thunderbolt offers optional direct hardware monitoring via Symphony Control software with a latency of 0.6 ms.
- Logic Pro X at 96kHz / 32 buffer settings
Devours Bits. Sips CPU.
The Symphony I/O Mk II Thunderbolt custom driver includes a breakthrough Direct Memory Access (DMA) engine that more efficiently reads and writes data directly to Mac memory, independent of the Mac CPU. The DMA engine runs on the Symphony I/O Mk II Thunderbolt’s hardware logic chip, increasing the efficiency of the driver to deliver the highest possible resolution signal to the DAC stage. This implementation allows the driver to process enormous amounts of data at amazing speeds, while using only a small amount of your Mac’s CPU. You’ll benefit from lower latency, more plug-in power, and a transparent and comprehensive listening experience.
