MiG 4.0 are Synergistic Research’s latest reference Mechanical Interface Grounding (MiG) isolation footers, designed to take the proven MiG concept well beyond earlier generations like MiG 3.0.
By combining high‑carbon steel resonators, variable wall thickness, and three different formulations within each set, MiG 4.0 delivers dramatically lower noise, greater resolution, and a more holographic soundstage without sacrificing body or musical warmth.
Each MiG 4.0 set is voiced for use with LogiQ and FEQ field generators, allowing your system to benefit from both mechanical and field‑based tuning in a coherent way. Installation is straightforward: simply place the three footers under your component, experiment with the two recommended placement patterns, and lock in the balance of focus, air and tonal richness that best suits your system and room.
The Triad Strategy
In a world-first for mechanical footers, a set of three MiG SRX is not three identical units. We’ve moved beyond a “universal” solution to a Strategic Triad. Each footer in a set of three contains a distinct, next-generation UEF Metamaterial formulation, voiced to address a specific performance vector:
• Footer Alpha – Engineered for holographic realism and soundstage density
• Footer Beta – Optimized for low-frequency impact, structural drive, and bass authority
• Footer Gamma – Dedicated to HF air, extension, and top-end liquidity
By deploying these three formulations together, MiG SRX achieves a balance of slam and refinement that a single, do-everything material could never replicate.
Pinpoint vs. Ambient setups
MiG 4.0, like earlier MiG generations, offers two primary tuning patterns:
Pinpoint setup
In the Pinpoint configuration, MiG 4.0 is arranged to tighten focus, sharpen imaging, and anchor instruments and voices with greater precision.
This setup is ideal if you want razor‑sharp localization, strong center fill and maximum front‑to‑back layering, for example in highly resolving, already well‑damped rooms.
Ambient setup
In the Ambient configuration, the MiG 4.0 placement shifts the balance toward a more expansive, enveloping soundstage with extra bloom and air around instruments.
This tuning is often preferred in systems that benefit from more openness and spaciousness, or when you want a slightly warmer, more relaxed presentation without losing detail. Both patterns are easy to try: move one or two footers to the alternative positions recommended by Synergistic Research (for example, swapping front/back positions), listen, and choose the configuration that best matches your system, music and taste.
Latest evolution of the MiG Mechanical Interface Ground concept.
Voiced for higher resolution without fatigue and a more holographic soundstage.
Mechanical grounding plus controlled resonance instead of heavy damping.
Effective under streamers, DACs, preamps, amplifiers, and power conditioners.
Easy to experiment with placement and tuning patterns for system matching.
