The Lehmann Audio PWX II is the next‑generation external power supply for Lehmann phono stages, designed to bring Black Cube, Black Cube SE and Black Cube SE II closer to the level of the Decade in terms of power delivery and sonic authority. As an upgrade over the original PWX, it provides even cleaner, more stable voltage and enhanced filtering of mains‑borne interference.
At the heart of the PWX II is a 30 VA toroidal transformer, built as a shielded, grounded „Störschutztrafo“ to suppress common‑mode noise on the mains. Combined with carefully engineered rectification and regulation stages, the PWX II delivers a low‑noise, symmetrical ±15 V supply that can power up to two Black Cube audio sections. This significantly reduces hum and interference, improves channel separation and gives the phono stage more dynamic headroom, especially on demanding records.
 
Sonically, the PWX II upgrade translates into more weight and control in the bass, smoother, more natural mids and an airy, finely resolved top end. Complex musical passages are reproduced with greater ease and stability, and micro‑details emerge without harshness.
