No local or global negative feedback
 
The Thermidt 3008 uses neither a global negative-feedback loop nor local negative feedback. Its performance therefore depends on the behaviour of the circuit, tubes and transformers themselves rather than corrective feedback around the amplification stages.
 
This is a deliberate design choice, not a claim that feedback-free amplifiers are universally superior. It gives the 3008 a clearly defined engineering approach for listeners interested in a direct Class A 300B signal path.
 
Custom UTM Industry output transformers
 
The output transformers are developed specifically for this amplifier by UTM Industry. Core material, winding geometry, impedance and construction are chosen for the circuit rather than taken from a generic catalogue design.
 
Each transformer presents the 300B with a 5 kΩ primary load and provides dedicated 4 Ω and 8 Ω loudspeaker outputs.
 
IGS Audio states a frequency response of approximately 20 Hz–20 kHz within ±0.1 dB. The transformer design is an important part of achieving this bandwidth in a low-power tube amplifier without negative feedback.
 
A 300B amplifier beyond a single musical genre
 
IGS Audio describes the 3008 as a design intended for more than quiet vocals and small acoustic ensembles. Its development also considered more energetic and rhythmically demanding music.

Efficient loudspeakers and realistic level requirements allow the amplifier to work within its capabilities. For demanding low-sensitivity speakers or very high listening levels, a more powerful amplifier may be the better choice.
