The Grimm Audio TPR XLR Male to XLR Female Cable, 8.0 m is a professional balanced audio interconnect for longer microphone, line-level and AES/EBU digital connections. Built with Grimm Audio’s TPR (Twisted Pair Reference) cable and high-quality Neutrik XLR connectors, it is engineered for critical signal paths in recording, mixing, mastering, broadcast and live-sound environments.
Developed for the refurbished Wisseloord Studios in the Netherlands, Grimm Audio TPR was designed to bring much of the performance philosophy of the flagship TPM cable to large-scale studio wiring at a more accessible price point. The cable combines precise twisted-pair geometry, a highly symmetrical conductor layout, heavy shielding and a conductive interface layer beneath the screen.
This construction is designed to minimise susceptibility to RF interference, electromagnetic noise and mechanically induced cable microphonics. Its robust build and dependable noise rejection make the 8.0 m version especially suitable for runs between control rooms and recording spaces, remote microphone positions, patchbays, converters, monitor controllers, outboard equipment, mixing consoles and stage or broadcast infrastructure.
With a 110 Ω characteristic impedance, TPR is also suitable for AES/EBU digital audio connections. The XLR male-to-XLR female configuration supports standard balanced point-to-point wiring, with the XLR female end typically connected to a source output and the XLR male end connected to a destination input.
