The Amphion Two18X is the next evolution of Amphion’s flagship Two18, designed for engineers who demand even greater bandwidth, resolution and spatial precision from their main monitoring system. It takes the proven dual‑driver concept of the original and refines it with a new 2.5‑way crossover topology, an updated titanium tweeter and extended high‑frequency response, resulting in an ultra‑low distortion reference that exposes every detail of your mix without sounding harsh or fatiguing.
 
Each Two18X combines two 6.5" aluminium low‑frequency drivers with a 1" titanium tweeter integrated into Amphion’s UDD waveguide. In the new 2.5‑way configuration, one woofer handles mid‑bass and lower mids while the second is dedicated to the deepest bass, with crossover points around 400 Hz and 1.6 kHz. This approach allows the speaker to reach down to roughly 35 Hz (±3 dB) while keeping the midrange clean, open and extremely articulate. The refined tweeter and crossover push the usable top end out to about 55 kHz, lowering distortion and improving transient and spatial cues, so reverbs, room information and fine high‑frequency details are easier to judge.
The Two18X remains a passive, dual‑radiator design: the sealed cabinet with rear passive radiators delivers deep, tight low end without the port noise and time smear associated with reflex designs. With a nominal impedance of 4 ohms, sensitivity of 89 dB (2.83 V/1 m) and a recommended amplifier power between 100 and 350 W per speaker, the Two18X is built to be driven by a serious power amplifier such as Amphion’s Amp700. Together they form a high‑headroom, full‑range system that can comfortably serve as a main monitor in small and mid‑sized control rooms.
