The Amphion One18X is the next evolutionary stage of Amphion’s iconic One18 studio monitor – a trusted workhorse in professional studios around the world. Building on the original’s reputation for natural, honest translation, the One18X introduces a state‑of‑the‑art titanium tweeter, a newly engineered crossover and a refined cabinet, delivering even higher clarity, resolution and transient precision while retaining the familiar Amphion voicing that engineers rely on.
 
At its core, the One18X remains a two‑way passive nearfield monitor with a 6.5" aluminium woofer and a 1" titanium tweeter in a controlled‑dispersion waveguide, working into a compact sealed enclosure with a rear passive radiator. The low 1600 Hz crossover point and careful alignment of woofer and tweeter voice‑coils keep the monitor operating as a near point‑source, which greatly improves phase coherence and imaging across width, height and depth. The new tweeter and crossover design push high‑frequency extension out to around 55 kHz (±3 dB) and lower distortion significantly, revealing micro‑details, ambience and spatial cues that are easy to miss on conventional nearfields.
 
With an 8 ohm nominal impedance, 85 dB sensitivity at 2.83 V/1 m and a recommended amplifier power of 100–350 W per speaker, the One18X benefits from a clean, high‑quality power amp such as Amphion’s Amp500 or Amp700, but also integrates well into existing setups with suitable amplification. The passive radiator design extends bass down to around 45 Hz while keeping the low end tight and controlled, helping you judge kick and bass weight accurately without relying on a sub. The combination of extended top end, solid low‑frequency reach and extremely linear midrange makes the One18X a powerful all‑round nearfield for modern production, mixing and mastering.
 
In practical use, the One18X is designed to reduce the gap between speaker and headphone listening environments: its ultra‑low distortion and precise imaging make balances and spatial decisions feel consistent when you switch between monitors and cans.
