The Amphion One18 is a high‑resolution passive nearfield monitor that has become a modern reference in many mix and mastering rooms. Sold as a matched pair, the One18 delivers an exceptionally detailed yet relaxed presentation, helping you hear subtle changes in balance, tone and dynamics without the harshness or fatigue often associated with analytical monitors.
 
Each One18 uses a custom‑designed 6.5" (18 cm) aluminium woofer and a 1" fast‑response titanium tweeter mounted in Amphion’s high‑density Corian waveguide. As with all Amphion studio monitors, the crossover is set very low at 1600 Hz, so most of the critical midrange lives on a single driver and time and phase alignment between woofer and tweeter remain extremely tight. Combined with the controlled‑directivity waveguide, this results in a wide sweet spot, a deep, three‑dimensional soundstage and a very strong phantom centre that keeps voices and key elements locked in place even at low listening levels.
 
The One18’s sealed‑style cabinet with rear passive radiator extends the low end down to around 45 Hz (±3 dB) without the port noise and overhang that can smear transients. Bass is deep for the size, but remains tight, articulate and well integrated with the mids, so kick and bass sit precisely in the spectrum rather than blooming into the room. With an 8 ohm nominal impedance, 85 dB sensitivity at 2.83 V/1 m and a recommended amplifier power between roughly 30 and 150 W per speaker, the One18 pairs beautifully with Amphion’s own Amp700 or Amp500, but also works with other high‑quality power amplifiers.
