The Amphion BaseTwo25 is a state‑of‑the‑art bass extension system that elevates any Amphion 2‑way monitor setup into a full‑range, three‑way monitoring solution. Instead of acting like a traditional mono subwoofer, BaseTwo25 uses a pair of tower‑style extenders that sit underneath your main monitors and preserve stereo information all the way down into the lowest octaves.
Each BaseTwo25 tower is a sealed design equipped with two long‑throw 10" aluminium woofers at the top and matching 10" passive radiators at the bottom, mounted in a back‑to‑back force‑cancelling configuration on both sides of the cabinet. This layout delivers deep, tight and tuneful low‑frequency reproduction while keeping mechanical vibration and cabinet movement to a minimum, even on demanding bass material. The system reaches down to around 20 Hz, with a maximum SPL of up to 127 dB at one metre, giving you the extension and headroom needed for modern music, film and broadcast work.
The BaseTwo25 system is powered and controlled by the dedicated BaseAmp1200, a 2U rack amplifier that provides 2 x 700 W of clean power and houses Amphion’s discrete filtering module. The crossover is an active 4th‑order design with four selectable crossover points at 40, 60, 80 and 100 Hz, plus a variable‑level attenuator, allowing you to integrate the system precisely with different Amphion monitors and room setups. A bypass function, switchable via front panel button or footswitch, lets you use your main monitors either as a conventional 2‑way system or as part of the full‑range 3‑way tower system at the touch of a button.
Beyond extending the frequency response, BaseTwo25 also improves midrange clarity and increases the power‑handling capability of your main monitors. By gradually transferring low‑frequency duties from the mains to the Base towers, intermodulation distortion in the midwoofers is reduced, so vocals, instruments and fine mix details become easier to judge. Compatible with all Amphion studio monitors, as well as other fast and resolving 2‑way designs, BaseTwo25 is a powerful solution for studios that require precise, full‑bandwidth monitoring without compromising time and phase coherence.
