Grimm Audio is a Dutch company based in Veldhoven, specializing in the design and manufacture of the finest high‑end audio equipment.

Founded in 2004, Grimm Audio quickly established a strong reputation within the audio industry — both in the world of high‑end hi‑fi and in professional audio. The company’s products are created to meet the highest demands of recording and mastering engineers while also delivering uncompromising sound quality for discerning home listeners.

Grimm Audio was founded by a passionate team of designers and engineers who share a deep commitment to exceptional audio performance and technological innovation. From the very beginning, the goal was to unite the best minds in the field to create truly outstanding and original products.

With the MU2, Grimm Audio presents one of the most advanced music streamers, servers, preamplifiers, and DACs in the world of high‑end hi‑fi — a true masterpiece that demonstrates just how refined and sophisticated modern music streaming can be.

- the Essentials at Glance

The MU2 represents the next evolution of the already acclaimed and refined MU1 music streamer.

The MU1 was designed as a pure high‑end music streamer and server, capable of managing and consolidating music from local drives, network servers, and online streaming services. Its output, however, is exclusively digital, making it the perfect partner for an external DAC.

The Grimm Audio MU2 builds on this foundation by incorporating a purpose‑built in‑house DAC. This enables it to deliver analog output directly to power amplifiers, integrated amplifiers, or active loudspeakers — turning it into a complete playback solution.

Both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA connectors are available on the rear panel for maximum system compatibility. For those who prefer the intimacy of headphone listening, the MU2 also includes a 6.3 mm stereo headphone output — a welcome touch for any serious music enthusiast.

Comprehensive connectivity options for versatile use at the rear — the MU2 serves as Roon music server and player, analog preamplifier, and DAC all in one.

With such a visually reduced and minimalist design, one might quickly wonder about the MU2's ease of use.

The elegantly recessed jog dial on top allows intuitive navigation through menus — simply rotate to scroll, press to select.

Volume control is handled by the MU2's sophisticated relay-based attenuator circuit, producing a refined, tactile click with each precise step.

Ultra-low Jitter-Precision ensures a musical experience hardly to find anywhere else

The MU2 delivers a level of musicality that stands apart from anything previously experienced in digital playback. Its unique combination of technical precision and sonic naturalness creates an intensely emotional listening experience that draws the listener deep into the music.

At its core is a specially selected, ultra–low-jitter clock oscillator. Each unit is individually measured and verified with our proprietary jitter analyzer before leaving the factory — ensuring absolute accuracy.
