Analog Equalizers for Mixing and Mastering
Analog equalizers are used to correct frequency problems, shape tone and add character during recording, mixing or mastering. The right design depends on the application: parametric equalizers allow targeted control of selected frequency bands, while passive and tube-based EQs are often chosen for broad, musical tonal shaping.
For stereo bus and mastering applications, features such as stepped controls, accurate channel matching, stereo linking and recall-friendly settings are especially important. Solid-state equalizers generally suit precise corrective work, whereas tube equalizers can add subtle harmonic colour and a smoother tonal character depending on the circuit and gain staging.
