For over a decade, Synergistic Research has been incrementally refining and improving their PowerCell models to deliver best-in-class, award-winning line conditioning for the most demanding audio enthusiasts. Now in development of the forthcoming flagship SRX PowerCell, they are completely rethinking and re-engineering the newest generation of PowerCells to take your system to even greater heights with regards to effortless dynamics, engagement and realism.
A comprehensive redesign of the patented SR EM Cell
Synergistic Research Electromagnetic Cells are the foundational building block responsible for line conditioning. While previous upgrades to the PowerCell brought forth improvements, the advancement has not been as revolutionary as it is today because the construction of the EM cell was fundamentally rethought versus continuing to refine it:
• A comprehensive redesign of the EM cell, inherited from the flagship SRX PowerCell, more efficiently filters out contaminants to the signal, resulting in a lower noise floor and better dynamics.
• The overall surface area of the cell has gone up 100 times from previous generations to deliver a significant increase in electromagnetic conditioning.
• Doubling its function as a supercapacitor, the amount of available energy has gone up 100 times as well, enabling even the most power-hungry amplifiers to sound more dynamic with better leading-edge transients plugged into the PowerCell than plugging it directly to the wall.
The end result enables more information to pass through in both a smoother and more holographic and accurate sound field than previous generation PowerCells.
Re-engineered ULF and DC biasing
ULF, in its most basic principle, is how your music is ‘reclocked’ to the Schumann Resonance by passively addressing and filtering out ambient RF and extreme high frequency noise that would otherwise degrade sound. The PowerCell 14 utilizes the Galileo SX PowerCell’s power supply and ULF Field Generator and improves upon it in the following ways:
• A reformulated Ultra Low-Frequency RF bias was implemented, captured from learnings gleaned from the SRX PowerCell and Voodoo streamer/server development programs.
• The nature of how Synergistic Research bias ULF has dramatically changed.
• The way both ULF and DC into EM cells was integrated, has also changed.The power supply that generates the DC bias to EM cells has been radically evolved.
• New 24k Gold UEF tuning circuits bring harmonic richness and enhanced musicality. With these advancements, SR is now able to precisely control the phase points between the frequencies used for bias. When selecting between the two biases on the PC14, they reflect SR’s most current understanding of ULF treatment and will deliver a more favorable, welcoming response to your music.

• Blue (Default): This option offers a laid-back midrange with a linear transition of notes from low frequencies to midrange to highs, creating a large and enveloping sound stage.
• Green: The midrange is slightly more forward compared to the Blue option, with a bit more bass emphasis.
Grounding, elevated
The internal power supply and ULF Generator included in the PowerCell 14 are further enhanced with a UEF Ground Plane first developed for the Galileo SX PowerCell to lower the noise floor and increase soundstaging. And to take this performance to a higher level still, there is the option to ground the PowerCell 14 to one of the Active Ground Blocks which improves low-frequency weight and attack as it lowers the noise floor further still without sacrificing one of the duplexes, so you have the full 14 outlets to filter all components in your system without loss of current.
Form elevates function
The PowerCell 14 chassis is mechanically and electromagnetically voiced. Machined from aircraft-grade aluminum, carbon fiber and plexiglass, its design strategically dampens and directs mechanical resonance from the ambient environment, the energy created by your speakers and how that feeds back into the circuit, and the vibrations generated by the transformers in the unit. The material makeup, physical size and windows into the unit optimize the efficiency and directivity of the electromagnetic fields generated by the EM cells to bring sound as close to life as possible.
9 Lighting options
Change the color and intensity of the light that illuminates the front and a top circuit view window. Select between Galileo White, Synergistic Research Blue, Dante Red, and McIntosh Blue to match its lighting to the other components in your system. And if you prefer no light at all you can choose to be boring, it’s all up to you.
