The Soyuz 013 FET is a small‑diaphragm FET condenser microphone designed to bring the company’s handmade capsule philosophy and transformer‑coupled sound into the world of pencil condensers. Built around a 25 mm gold‑sputtered capsule and a FET circuit coupled to a custom transformer, the 013 FET balances the speed and detail expected from a high‑quality SDC with a slightly warm, musical tonality.In practice, this means transients from acoustic guitar, piano, strings and percussion are captured cleanly and with excellent definition, but without the brittle or overly clinical edge some small‑diaphragm mics can have. The midrange remains focused and natural, while the top end is open yet controlled, making the 013 FET suitable for both close‑miking and more distant stereo configurations. With a maximum SPL of around 143 dB, it also handles drums, brass and louder sources with ease.The microphone features a fixed cardioid capsule, ‑10 dB pad and robust metal body, and is available as a single mic or as a matched stereo pair depending on the package. In stereo, a pair of 013 FETs works extremely well for overheads, ORTF, spaced pairs, piano and ensemble recordings where imaging and phase coherence are critical.
