The PSI Audio A215-M is a compact floorstanding active mastering monitor designed for professional mastering rooms, high-end studios and uncompromising active stereo systems. Combining PSI Audio’s Swiss engineering, fully analogue signal path and individually calibrated drivers, it delivers a monitoring reference for critical work and exceptionally revealing music reproduction.
Unlike conventional passive floorstanding loudspeakers, the A215-M integrates its amplifiers, crossover technology and driver-control systems inside a purpose-designed active loudspeaker platform. No external power amplifier is required, and no DSP or digital conversion is inserted into the audio path. The result is a direct, coherent and highly controlled connection between the source signal and the loudspeaker drivers.
The A215-M uses a symmetrical D’Appolito configuration with two 170 mm woofers surrounding PSI Audio’s Extended Dome Driver midrange and a 27 mm tweeter. This arrangement produces controlled vertical dispersion, stable imaging and consistent tonal balance for both seated and standing listeners. It is particularly well suited to mastering environments, where a stable reference must be maintained across long sessions and small movements around the listening position.
Its fully active three-way architecture assigns dedicated Class G amplification to each frequency range: 290 W for the low-frequency section and 55 W for the high-frequency section. PSI Audio’s analogue crossover design and CPR, Compensated Phase Response, technology help maintain controlled phase behaviour through the crossover regions. This supports accurate transient response, focused stereo localisation and reliable assessment of depth, compression, EQ and spatial processing.
The A215-M reaches from 36 Hz to 23 kHz at minus 6 dB, providing substantial low-frequency extension from a slim floorstanding cabinet. Its bass-reflex design, carefully controlled driver behaviour and PSI Audio’s AOI, Active Output Impedance, technology support clean bass reproduction, controlled decay and an unusually precise relationship between low-frequency weight and midrange detail.
With a maximum continuous SPL of 106 dB, short-term SPL of 109 dB and peak SPL of up to 115 dB at one metre, the A215-M provides ample headroom for professional monitoring at typical listening distances between 1.2 and 3.5 metres. It is suitable as a premium stereo reference for mastering, mixing, editing, critical listening and high-end active HiFi installations.
The A215-M is available in Studio Red, Metal Black and Pure White. Each standard finish uses the same acoustically identical loudspeaker system; the cabinet finish is the only difference. For clients who require a specific interior or studio design, a made-to-order Custom RAL finish is also available on request, subject to colour approval, pricing and production lead time.
