IGS Audio VOLF - Stereo FET Compressor / UREI 1176

The newly released IGS Audio VOLF is a homage to the well known UREI 1176, with added functions and features.

The Legacy

VOLF is a stereo audio compressor inspired by the legendary UREI 1176, renowned for its fast attack times and transparent compression. Designed to handle bass frequencies with precision, VOLF captures the punch and warmth of the original 1176, while offering modern stereo capabilities, making it the perfect tool for both studio and live sound applications. With its intuitive controls and robust build, VOLF ensures that your low-end dynamics are smooth and controlled, without sacrificing tonal richness.

The core of versatility of sound of the 1176 lies in the balance between the Input, Output, and Release knobs

Key features include:

24-step, Swiss-made ELMA switches on Input, Output, and Mixer for precise control.

Fully stepped controls on all parameters, ensuring consistent and repeatable adjustments.

Switchable input mode between transformer-balanced or IC-balanced inputs for greater tonal flexibility*.

AMP mode, which bypasses compression, allowing the signal to pass through the amplifier with 45dB.

• Ultra-low noise discrete IGS 2520 Op-Amps in both amplification stages for pristine sound and minimal noise.

• Link option for stereo image balance, ensuring optimal stereo imaging and coherence in a mix.

A Class A circuit, providing smooth, transparent processing ideal for professional audio environments.

• UTM Industry input and output transformers

• Linear power supply

With its blend of vintage compression characteristics and modern innovations, VOLF offers a versatile solution for any engineer seeking both classic tone and advanced control, making it a top choice for shaping bass dynamics with accuracy and style.
